Earth— it nourishes all life, and bears the weight of civilization. To lift a handful of soil is to touch the warmth of the ancient world. Soft between the fingers, it finds its shape in fire. Clay, born of earth and flame, shaped into vessels for water, into li for cooking, into dou that carries reverence. It walked with early life into settlement— first as sand-tempered redware, fired at low heat, rising with the smoke of hearths, a quiet companion to humankind’s earliest meals and brews.

Stillness— is the way in which existence slowly takes form. Within stillness, one steps back, unhurried to speak, simply observing the world as it unfolds. 淡泊以明志，宁静以致远。 With detachment the will is made clear; with tranquility, one may journey far. Stillness is an intentional blank space, a gentle delineation between oneself and all things. What “In Stillness” seeks is an inward restoration and reflection— a way of sensing both self and the world through slowness.

Volume 04. Touch

Touch is the first sense to awaken in humankind. Before our eyes ever open, we are already in conversation with the world through our skin— the rhythm, warmth, and embrace of the mother’s body. Among the five senses, touch is the most silent, yet the most fundamental. Every contact is a wordless affirmation— of others, of the world, of the self. Touch is not a boundary, but a field of connection. Through our bodies, we perceive the world, and in return, are gently perceived by it.
